Why are we doing this?
We are living in one of the most disruptive eras of human history, with the emergence of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and many other factors, such as COVID-19, that are disrupting the world as we use to know it.
However, our education systems remain almost the same since centuries ago. So there is a huge urge to creating a new future for education in order to solve many global issues, including:
Lack of access to education.
Higher education systems are focused on current job's needs, even though we don't even know which will be the jobs of the future.
Most education systems are focused on hard skills and knowledge, leaving apart emotions and other soft skills that will determine the future of people's life.
Traditional education systems are not adapted to the COVID-19, and we may miss years of proper education in the current young generations.
We do need to re-define what education means, we do need to re-invent our education systems. And we do need to do it ourselves: the people, the doers.
How we will do it?
Purpose Alliance is a non-for-profit entity focused on empowering extraordinary people to create the future.
One of the main activities of Purpose Alliance is running Purpose Challenges where both individuals and existing startups participate to either generate new ideas or evolve existing solutions in order to make a masive impact in a specific area (in this case, education!).
Purpose Challenges have the following phases:
Application: People and startups apply to participate in the challenge. Also, mentors, partners and investors apply to get involved in this amazing process and support the participants to generate and/or evolve their initiatives.
Training and keynotes: The week before to the Challenge, all participants get a free training on the meta-innovation methodology Purpose Launchpad. Also, there will be a set of inspirational keynotes (given by domain experts) to provide participants with insights and new knowledge on the field.
Challenge day: Individual participants are grouped into teams (if they didn't register as part of team) and work during a 3-hour session in order to generate disruptive ideas to make a masive impact in the area of the Purpose Challenge using the Purpose Launchpad methodology and with the support of certified Launchpad Mentors. Also, startups spend the 3-hour working session analyzing and evolving their current solution with the support of an official Launchpad Mentor.
Launchpad Accelerator: A number of initiatives and startups will be selected to join the Launchpad Accelerator program, where certified Purpose Launchpad Mentors will work with the teams and startups during one more month after the Purpose Challenge in order to evolve their initiatives to maximize the impact.
Evolution presentations: Teams and startups will present their initiatives and its evolution to the Purpose Alliance community in order to find new purpose-driven doers and investors that are willing to support the further evolution of the initiatives.
Purpose Launchpad, an open-sourced
methodology to make a massive impact
Purpose Launchpad is focused on generating and evolving early-stage ideas into purpose-driven organizations to make a massive impact.
In order to generate disruptive ideas and/or evolve exiting solutions to tackle this global challenge, we will use the Purpose Launchpad, which is an innovation methodology with which people can evolve early-stage ideas into purpose-driven, sustainable, and eventually exponential organizations that will make a massive impact.
Purpose Launchpad includes eight different axes with the areas that innovative initiatives need to properly assess and evolve in order to successfully make a massive impact. These areas are purpose, people, customer, abundance, sustainability, process, product and metrics.
Also, in order to continuously evolve the previously mentioned areas, the Purpose Launchpad meta methodology uses dozens of proven and open innovation frameworks, processes and tools such as Lean Startup, Design Thinking, Agile, Exponential Organizations, etc.
Participating in a Purpose Challenge, getting to know (with the free training and the real experience) the Purpose Launchpad methodology and working with a certified mentor is a price itself!
